What is Zumba®?

Working out can be healthy, rewarding, and beneficial, but it’s never been known to be much fun UNTIL NOW!

Zumba® fuses hypnotic latin and international music with dance creating a dynamic, energetic and effective exercise system that will blow you away.  Zumba® is based on the principle that a workout should be "fun", and "easy to do" motivating people to stick with it and achieve long term health benefits.

The class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.  Some of the basic rhythms include Merengue, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Salsa, Samba, Bhangra/Bollywood, Bellydance, Tango, Calypso, African and Quebradita.

Visit www.zumba.com for more information.

Who can participate?

Each person brings a different energy level, experience, and personality to the class.  Routines can range from moderate to simple, and all levels are generally accepted in an open class.

What do I need to participate?

Tennis shoes are required to participate in this exercise.  Comfortable clothing is also suggested.  Please also bring water and a hand towel.

What does Zumba look like?

Here is a commercial I was in with fellow Zumba instructors.  Take a look to see what a real class looks like.
